Red Tape Entertainment
Red Tape Entertainment is an independent hip-hop label that was established by The Optimen in their hometown of Brisbane in 2002.
Initially the label was set up in order to independently release their debut album, “Boomtown”, but has since expanded to include the likes of battle-rap barbarian, Balboa, and up and coming crew to keep your ears open to, Pure Product.
A keystone to the operation of Red Tape was to limit the artist roster to an absolute minimum; ensuring the often illusive aim of quality over quantity is maintained. While only still in its infancy, Red Tape has fast become a nationally respected label for its commitment to ensuring only the best quality is put out and made available to the listener.
With an unspoken motto to make music by the real hip-hop heads for the real hip-hop heads (letting whatever spills over spill over), Red Tape is uncompromising in delivering this promise: no sell-out.
After a crazy 2009, which saw The Optimen sign a distribution deal with Inertia the crew’s now able to release their eagerly awaited sophomore album “The Out of Money Experience”. With all this and more set for 2010 you can expect some big things coming outta the Red Tape Stable. Blaow!
