Ande

LABEL: Trans:Com

Composing with computers since 1993, Ande was part of an underground movement in east coast Australia including Clan Analogue and Transmission Communications.

Infiltrating the pub rock dominated scene and performing live dance music, Ande was in an active and daring crew. Ande hooked up with his favorite DJ, Su in 1994.

The East Coast of Australia is famous for its beautiful beaches and stunning bush land. It's not surprising that some of the most amazing parties happen outdoors, and Ande has been involved in this scene since 1995. In 1996  a move to Japan brought an opportunity to perform and be involved in dance festivals in outdoor locations such as Mt Fuji and in many of the clubs of Tokyo, in Rappongi,  Shinjuku and Shibuya. Working on collaborative projects with Japanese artists was an enlightening, but linguistically challenging experience.

After returning to Australia, Ande and Su established Soundhive, an audio production company, as well as performing and helping out with the Dragonflight (outdoor dance festival) crew. Soundhive compiled and released a double CD of artists from the '99 New years Event.

Apart from dance events, Ande has been a workshop artist at the Out of the Box  festival of early childhood, with mobs of under 8s either mixing multi-track music or making electronic percussion.  Kid DJ (with DJ Cat Kid) was a blast for the under12s at the Royal Brisbane Exhibition, with up to 12 on the decks at a time. Ande currently trains audio producers at 98.9 FM Brisbane, and is a mentor for Blakout Productions, an up and coming indigenous event management krew. The Junction - a brand new youth centre and venue  in Noosa has also hosted DJ and Dance Music Production workshops where Ande has given heaps of young people their first taste of mixing.

Ande now divides his production time between dance music and music and sound design for Soundhive. For details on Ande's work at Soundhive - see the work section or visit the soundhive homepage.
