“…one tight country outfit.”  Rave Magazine

Opening for Justin Townes Earle in Brisbane, fresh from the Tamworth Country Music Festival & Woodford Folk Festival, playing to sell out crowds in Brisbane and Melbourne and set to play five shows at the Apollo Bay Festival..... 2011 is starting to look like Rattlehand’s year.
Launching onto the Brisbane scene in 2010, Rattlehand are the definition of alt country.  A blend of seasoned and classically trained musicians, all consistent contributors to the Australian Independent music scene for over 10 years and across multiple styles. This 6-piece project is a mixed bag of local talent boasting members from such indie stalwarts as The Black Arts, Grassroots Street Orchestra, Fat Man’s Cleavage and Say Nothing.

This lively 6 piece are receiving regular airplay on JJJ’s Roots n All and are number two with a five star rating in Sarah Howell’s band picks on JJJ Unearthed.

Soulful narrative is the motivation behind Rattlehands music, influenced by Ryan Adams, Wilco, Hank Williams, The Old 97's and Johnny Cash. Their alt-country/ rock feel pays homage to the “outlaw country” genre of the 60’s and 70’s: it is a sound that happily deviates from the dominant paradigm. In love with all things Americana, Rattlehand serve up bluegrass feels and country twang on a platter of guitars, bringing rock to the bayou.

“Who knows what rock Rattlehand crawled out from under, but they should do it a helluva lot more often!”  Time Off Magazine

“Lovers of alt-country really need to keep an eye out for these guys.”  Rave Magazine
