One of the few Third Stream acts in the country, Departures blends Classical textures with Jazz improvisation, deft musical expertise with remarkable flexibility in structure and composition.

Predominantly a showcase for the works of Brisbane multi-instrumentalist Alex Hodgins, Departures has performed as an ensemble of up to nine members including internationally renowned saxophonist Elliott Dalgleish (Australian Arts Orchestra, Paul Grabowsky).

The self titled Departures album was our first release and it brings us much joy to see people walking away stunned from their epic live performances.
